‘Every great invention, starts with a simple idea.’
I love being Design & Technology subject lead at Willow Farm. D&T encourages children to become confident and creative problem-solvers. Our pupils learn through practical, hands-on experiences that develop key life skills such as planning, designing, measuring, using tools safely and evaluating their own work. They are encouraged to test ideas, learn from mistakes and take pride in the design process as well as the finished product.
By exploring real-life problems and meaningful contexts, children gain an understanding of how everyday products are designed and made. Design & Technology helps pupils develop resilience, teamwork and critical thinking, preparing them to become inspiring future innovators.
Please find documentation on how the D&T curriculum is taught throughout our school.
